Cheap yet classy is the best way to describe this crisp coastal South African Sauvignon Blanc-Colombard wine. I bought it at Waitrose for £3.99 which is a real bargin, yes it was on offer and should be £4.99 which would still be cheap for such a good wine. I really enjoy buying my wine at Waitrose as I feel their buyers do know a bargain, I hardly ever pay a lot there unless it is a special occasion and yet I come away with excellent wines. This one is dry, crisp, silky smooth and full of gooseberry and lemon flavours which linger for a few moments on the tongue, as for the name, it is from the region which used to have natives blowing horns to call the whales drawing them nearer to land, I do not know how much of that is true, so don’t quote me just enjoy the wine.
